Quadrantids 2027: when and where to look
What it is
The Quadrantids are a meteor shower: Earth crosses the dust left by 2003 EH1, and the grains burn up at 41 km/s. Meteors seem to come from the constellation Boötes. The International Meteor Organization lists a peak rate (ZHR) of about 80 per hour under a perfect, dark sky with the radiant overhead; from a city you will see far fewer.
